Barbara Wright B.Sc. Dip. Couns. D.C.R.T.
Azure Counselling is an independent
counselling practice that specialises in working with people who who
want a greater understanding of themselves so as to cope with issues in
their life.

Are you......
Tired or bad tempered for no apparent reason?
Struggling with relationship issues?
Finding work getting on top of you?
Feeling you have no one to talk to, without being judged?
Totally alone in the world, with nobody who really cares?
Feeling no one is really listening to you?
Finding childhood issues are weighing you down, and you'd like to let
them go?
Feeling overwhelmed by feelings of sadness, grief and anger, perhaps
because you are recently bereaved?
OR are you just stuck... not living fully, wanting to move
forward and make choices, but afraid to do so?
About Counselling
Counselling is a way for you to talk about
and explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe and confidential
environment, something you may find difficult or impossible to do with
family or friends. Counsellors are trained to listen, support and assist
you to make positive changes in your life, without judgement, criticism
or attempting to influence you towards a particular course of action. By
creating the space for you to talk freely and release any bottled up
feelings, such as grief, anger, anxiety or guilt, counselling can help
you understand these feelings, where they are coming from and what
triggers them off. Some issues may have remained unresolved for years,
while others can be suddenly triggered by life events. Talking to
someone outside your immediate circle of friends or family, such as a
trained counsellor can be of help.
A trained Counsellor will listen in an attentive and supportive way, and
help you work through your problems as they surface, so you begin to see
things from a different and more positive perspective. Counselling can
help with:
• grief and loss
• trauma / abuse
• stress related disorders
• work conflict
• depression and anxiety
• relationship difficulties
• development and growth
Sessions are for couples or individuals, and can be on a long term
basis, or over a focussed short term. A small change in our behaviour
can lead to a big change in the direction our life is taking .During
your first appointment your counsellor will discuss how many counselling
sessions you may need; most counselling involves a series of six
sessions. Each session lasts about an hour and costs $70.
